Notes from the garden.

May
Delivered the first of eight sessions of the Growing Gardeners kindergarten curriculum, aligned with the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework 2.0. This session focussed on being garden detectives and understanding what is already living in the garden.
June
Delivered the second Growing Gardeners learning session, where children learnt how to mix a seed raising medium and sow their own seeds.
July
The children's seed sowing was a success, so this session was an extra one to show them how to pot up the seedlings to grow until spring transplanting.
Next steps
Session three will be focussed on building healthy soil through composting and creating an in-ground worm farm.
Session four will be focussed on preparing the beds ahead of spring transplantation.
